Dior Addict Gloss 643 Diablotine Varnish Swatch

I thought I would show you my latest purchase from Dior, Diablotine 643. Diablotine is a really beautiful coral red with what almost looks like glass flecks rather than glitter, but it is definitely a fine gold glitter. As you may be able to see it can be quite opaque, but this is after three coats, so a little disappointing there, but doesn't take away from the fact that it's a beautiful colour. I find the Addict Gloss range on the gloopy side, you can easily over load the brush. With the combination of the highly pigmented red in this varnish it can make a clean up job very tedious spreading red all over the place, so a little is sat in my cuticles which will annoy me until I take it all off!!

I'm not sure why I do this to myself, I'm not really a fan of their brush, I find the brush just doesn't do its job for me. I know others just love their brush, but give me a SpaRitual brush any day, if it wasn't curved it would be perfect. Combine this brush with a formula that is not easy to work and you have a varnish ready made to hate, but as you can see the colour you end up loving and hating it all at once.

Dior Diablotine Artificial Light

Dior Diablotine Natural Light with Flash, this is a very true account of the colour, an elegant coral red.

Both of these photos are taken with Seche Vite on as it has a texture to the varnish due to the glitter. I also use a base ridge filler, as you may be able to tell on my middle nail my nails are very ridged, but along with a filler, 3 coats and a top coat this comes out really gel like if you like that look.
You should get a fair 4-5 days from this varnish, glitter varnishes tend to wear and chip less in my experience, just remember to look after them.

Had I tried this before buying I'm not sure if I would have brought it, I'm completely torn by this one, I adore the colour but application wasn't relaxing! I will wear this colour again, more than likely when I forget what it's like to apply, haha!

I also have Spring Ball in the Addict Gloss range which I will show shortly.

SpaRitual Emerald City & Positive Vibe Swatch

Good evening all, hope your weekend is as relaxing as mine :o)

I thought I would share with you a polish that I feel is really underrated and almost unknown, to me it should be known by all far and wide!

SpaRitual are a vegan friendly polish, free from DBP, Toulene, Formaldehyde and Formaldehyde Resin. It has a patented handle on all polishes which are fantastic, they are none slip and perfect grip length, I'm not sure about you but I don't paint well with small handles, I need something to hold. It has a slightly shorter brush than some brands, but I find my application is better with this than many others.

Now for the colour mix, Emerald City is from SpaRituals Cool Contraltos Collection. Emerald is a huge colours that will be in throughout the spring and I expect the summer seasons, it's just too good not to last. Emerald City has a jelly type formula and will take about 4 coats, 3 if you apply it thickly. All these are with a top coat of my old reliable, Seche Vite, lots of bad stuff in it yes, but totally unbeatable in performance. I never recommend not using a top coat but these have a natural shine to them without.

Emerald City, Natural Light. In the light the Emerald really comes into it's own, it's an easily worn colour with a warmth to is.

Emerald City, Slight Shade

SpaRitual Positive Vibe is from the Reflect Collection and is a mustard yellow creme polish. This colour I kind of didn't like all the much when I brought it, but once on (and I have worn it on its own on all nails) it looks stunning, I literally couldn't stop looking at them. The colour is underestimated and elegant, and I quite like it as a feature colour. This colour I feel would suit a vintage look really well for all you vintage fans, but if your like me and tend to wear too much black then it's perfect.

Positive Vibe, Natural Light.

The smell of SpaRitual is not offensive and it lasts me a week or more without chipping, but the average nail it should do 4-5 days easy, but will ware if you don't seal it up properly.
What I mean about sealing it up is, going over the free edge and under the nail, this prevents and for me totally stops chipping! I then give my nails another coat of top coat 3 days later to seal it all in again and freshen that top layer which can be come scratched. By doing this I can get a fabulous 2 weeks from my varnish, but then I do nothing with my nails. I do not use them to open anything or scratch anything off. When I wash up I use gloves, the nails will become soft in the water and will encourage them to brake and peel, if you are prone to peeling like I am, definitely use gloves.

My overall opinion, I love these shades and I especially love them together. SpaRitual, for me, are way ahead of the game and many polishes are sometimes not quite right with their timing. The launch of Reflect although maybe a little on the darker side for some I think will do well, they have some real gems in the collection. I can't wait to purchase my next one, all I have to do now is choose! Suggestions welcome :o)

Dior Cherie Bow Tutu 155 Varnish/Vernis Swatch

Well here comes swatch number one, obviously it had to be something special, and so this is what I chose. Dior's Cherie Bow Collection had a colour that screamed spring to me, and lets face it spring needs some help this year. I wouldn't usually buy light pink, but against my skin tone it looked a good match, and I have been told to brighten up my nail wardrobe, it does look a bit dark I have to confess.

The bottle as always screams elegant  but I can't say the same for the formulation of this colour, it was anything but. I felt clumsy applying this colour, its slightly on the runny side so coverage was blotchy. I would say that me having very curved nails didn't help, if you have a flatter nail you will apply this a lot easier than I did.
I got away with some nails having 3 coats, the others needed 4. Not great, but I think you will agree the end colour is almost worth the effort. You end up with this gorgeous off baby pink colour, it's not in your face but it will get noticed, trust me!

Dior Tutu taken with natural light and flash, this is when I look at it, really look at it, and see a very striking and easy wearing colour. I'm olive skinned and this is perfect, it has a warmth to it that will suit all skin tones.

This image I feel gives the best representation of colour, a beautiful slightly lighter than baby pink colour.

It's a stunning colour that will go with everything and would look super elegant in an office or function easily, it isn't 'little girl' in the slightest. But...it took on average 4 coats and it was on the runny side so tending not to coat evenly, was a little sloppy. I brought this from one of my favourite sites www.feelunique.com mainly because of free delivery without a minimum spend, and they hold the whole range of colour in Dior Vernis, its bad enough that this varnish is £18 without paying postage, so that is a plus for me. Dior varnish generally will last me a week and still look very presentable, but it all depends if you look after your varnished nails.

Would I buy the colour again (I have a habit of buying two of the colours I like)? No, probably not. That doesn't go to say that all Dior Varnish is like this, but this one certainly is hard work.

Would I return it if I could? No, I wouldn't, I really like this colour and I think its a beautiful addition to my collection of colour and my little Dior collection which I will share with you shortly.

Hello & Welcome...

I just wanted to start my post with a little hello and to welcome you to my blog. My name is Lola I'm 27 and in the UK, I have been a fanatic about nails since my teens, over time I have got better and have been nagged to death to share what I love doing. I'm a qualified manicurist and have a small qualification in beauty, I decided that beauty was not my path but still have a major interest in my skins health and of course my nails. So here I am nailing the swatches for you all to enjoy and peruse.

You will find mainly swatches on here and the occasional beauty product, but nails are my passion. I think also being a follower of others blogs is always good to get an opinion on a new brand you haven't tried or the colour that you fancy but want to see it on the nail. You will also find the odd post on nail art. If there was more time in a day I would do them on a regular basis, but being a perfectionist it needs to be perfect, so keep an eye out for those.

I welcome all comments and thoughts good and occasionally bad. If there is something particular you want me to review or swatch then please do let me know and I will see what I can do about getting hold of it and up on Lola Nailed It.

Welcome to my blog, all comments, hello's and questions are welcome so fire away if you want to ask me something.

Have fun and I hope you enjoy the blog.
